Nap of a goldfish

This work is the lyrics of a Japanese nursery rhyme "Nap of a goldfish".

I wrote it about five years ago. I wrote it happily while singing.

It was selected for the 30th Sankei international calligraphy exhibition.

The work of Chinese characters

This work is the poetry of Liu Bowen which I wrote about five years ago.

Liu Bowen was a soldier, politician, poet, and strategist of the Chinese yuan.

It took one hour to write one piece. I wrote 100 pieces as writing practice. When I had finished writing it, I felt really good.

The Gion Festival

The Gion Festival is one of Japan's three greatest festivals. Kyoto was full of many people. The family who came from a far-off country stayed at our guest house. If they enjoyed the Gion festival, I am glad.

Hawaiian cafe

When I had free time, I went to Very Berry Cafe. I ate a sandwich on a homemade bagel. The bagel was slightly sweet and it was delicious.

When I lived alone near here, I often went to Very Berry Cafe late at night. I heard the sound of the car like the sound of the wave, so it seemed to be totally in Hawaii.

Just recently, one of my friends married a Hawaiian and lives in Hawaii. I'd like to go to Hawaii to meet her.

Kyoto Municipal Science Center for Youth

I went to the Kyoto Municipal Science Center for Youth with my family. My son likes to go there. He doesn't get tired of that place no matter how many times he goes. He entered the kaleidoscope and he stared at the miniature of the dinosaur.

There were summer rooms of the desert and Kyoto. I felt that a room of Kyoto was hotter than a room of the desert, because the summer of Kyoto is very humid.

We visited the planetarium that had a story about Mars and Saturn. Both stars were attractive. He should come to like astronomy.

I was a late shift worker attendant, so I went to the bookstore near the workplace this morning. I like the cafes which are in a bookstore because I feel calm when I am surrounded by books. What kind of book shall I read next?

Love letter from my son

I found some graffiti from my son when I was going to write a memo on the memo paper.

"I love my mother"
When I saw it, I became more motivated with my work.

Noryo Yuka

There are many restaurants layed out in Noryo Yuka in the west of Kamogawa.

When I look at the Noryo Yuka, I feel that summer came. I have reached only 2-3 times so far. In this summer, won't you go with us?

lunch boxes

I made two lunch boxes one morning. I went to my boss and we ate together for the lunch break. I consulted with him about my job while having lunch. He taught me many things so my work seems to progress. I intend to sometimes make lunch boxes because he always treats me to lunches. I must get up early then.

Flower arrangement of the rainy season

It rained all the time in the rainy season, but the sun sometimes appeared. My mother arranged the flowers for such an image. The flowers which she used this time were Nyusairan, Polygonatum falcatum, and sunflowers.

There are various types of the flower arrangement schools. The school that my mother belongs to is Mishoryu-Sasaoka. If you are interested in flower arrangements, you can have a one-hour experience at the school.

Kids Dego Ichi

I went to Kids Dego Ichi with my son, my friend, and her son. I met her and her son for the first time in a while. He grew up compared to the last time I met him.

Kids Dego Ichi are filled with Tomika plastic rails and trains that children can play with. While children played, I was chatting with my friend and drinking coffee.

Admission is free on the birth month of the children, so we want to surely come again in April because they were both born in April.

A walk at night

I went on a walk with my husband at night. We didn't have enough time to have dates, so we went out at midnight when my sons were asleep. I was busy everyday at work, housework and raising my children, but I've got a bit of breathing room.

Rainy days

The washing of my heart that piled up on a rainy day.

It's been raining every day. I didn't like rainy days because they made me feel heavy.
I wrote this work about five years ago. The poetry was penned by my mistress of calligraphy. I became able to think rainy days would be nice since then. Though I cannot wash laundry, let's do that I want to do on a rainy day.

School lunch

I went to the elementary school where my son went to. I did some tasting of the school lunch. They are all handmade and delicious. My son seems to look forward to having a school lunch every day. I was sorry that the tableware was made by alumite. I'm hoping to have it be improved soon.

Donq

I went to Donq near my work with my colleague for lunch. Donq is my favorite bakery. We have a wide choice of bread at the bakery. The conversation grew lively while eating a delicious lunch. I forgot to bring my wallet so he paid the bill. I want to go there again.

Dental clinic

I went to the dental clinic for the maintenance of my tooth. There is the dentist in the basement of Hotel Okura. That dental hygienist cleans my teeth carefully and the treatment of the dentist is not so painful. I have heard the tourists staying at Hotel Okura were receiving dental treatment at the dental clinic. I have to take care of my teeth to enjoy eating even if I become 80 years old.

My favorite baker

I often go to a baker called the Cascard. The shop is in Tambabashi Station of Kyoto. I love French bread and sandwiches in particular.
You can bring that back or eat in the shop. If you go to Tambabashi Station, I recommend the bread of the Cascard.

Saikyu-ji temple

I passed in front of Saikyu-ji temple, near the Fujinomori Station. I had been going there to participate in a yoga class during my maternity leave and childcare leave. The instructor of the yoga was experienced, so I learned some important things about labor and childbirth from her. For example, a way of physical training for delivery and the breathing at the time of labor pains. I met some pregnant women who turned a breech baby by her instruction.

 I want to go again because it is settled down very much to do yoga in the temple. If you are interested in yoga or meditation, wouldn't you like to stay at our guesthouse, and go to the Saikyu-ji temple together?

Kani Doraku

I went to Kani Doraku with my parent and my son. It was near our guesthouse, about 10 minutes on foot. I did not make a reservation, but the usher conducted us to the private room.

My son fell sound asleep, so we were able to have dinner and calm down.

The waitress who was wearing a kimono offered various kinds of crab dishes. The sashimi and the grilled crab dish were very delicious.

My parent said that we could spend a luxurious time, so I was happy.

Hydrangea festival of Fujinomori-jinja Shrine

It has stopped raining, I went to the hydrangea festival of Fujinomori-jinja Shrine with my eldest son. The shrine is near my house and our tutelary deity. In the hydrangea garden, there were various colors of hydrangeas such as pink ,purple, blue, yellow green, and white. I didn't know various kinds of hydrangeas like that so far.

After having left the hydrangea garden, we ate hydrangea Dango. They were selling skewered mugwort dumplings as hydrangea Dango. My son loves Dango, so he ate joyfully. 

The people who were wearing happi coats played the Japanese drums at the festival. I felt that the drumbeat sounded to the core of my body.

The flowers of leeks

My mother arranged flowers of leeks in the entrance of the house. I saw such big flowers of leeks for the first time. It seemed a mysterious space for the flowers.

Cafe Veroce

Cafe Veroce in Otesuji shopping street is one of my favorite cafes, because there is a diaper changing table in the restroom. When I am with a baby, I am particularly thankful. I wish there were more shops like that.

Kura-Sushi with guest family

I went to Kura-Sushi with my family and guest family who were staying in our guesthouse. My sons ate sushi, I ate a tempura bowl, and my husband ate cold noodles. It was fun because we could eat various kinds of dishes.

The guest family enjoyed looking at the sushi train and shot photographs. The couple are photographers who came from Australia. I saw their pictures with a blog, and they were very wonderful photographs. I want to talk about things such as each other's country with them when I get better at speaking English.

White lilies

I found white lilies on my way to work. They were in full blossom and were very beautiful.
I wanted to display lilies in my house.

I love all my family

When I got up in the morning, I found a few pieces of paper on which my oldest son wrote message and drew pictures. That makes me feel happy.

My son and his grandfather

My son and his grandfather get on well. When my son wakes up early in the morning, his grandfather always takes my son for a walk.
It was rainy today, so they prayed in my house using newspapers. My son calls his grandfather "Ji-ji-" . The word that he spoke for the first time was "Ji-ji-". I was sorry that was not "mom".

Pure Kids

I went to Pure Kids near my house with my oldest son and his friend. It is around 15 minutes by car. That is the place where children can play on big playground equipment in the room. While children played, their parents sat down on a sofa all the time and talked. There are a lot of massage chairs for adults.

After having eaten in the food court of the neighboring building, we went shopping. We were able to meet Pepper the robot in a cell-phone shop. My son loves Pepper.
My son said before going to bed that it was good today because there were a lot of good things.

Katsukura

I went to Katsukura in Otesuji shopping street with my family for the first time in a while. When I was a college student I went there often.

 

I ordered vegetables cutlet and fin cutlet this time. My son ordered a child set, of course.

I grind the sesame of the sauce myself. The fin cutlet was very tender so I thought that it was difficult to make it the same way. My husband got refills on rice, miso soup, and shredded cabbage. After eating everything, he said that he ate too much.

Lunch box

I cooked a lunch box which my son took on an excursion this morning. I asked my son what he wanted to put in the lunch box yesterday, he said "I definitely want to put in octopus and crab sausages!" He loves octopus and crab sausages, so he always says that. It took 30 minutes to make a lunch box today. I want to cook a lunch box more quickly next time.

Gardenias

Gardenias bloomed in the garden of my house. When I open the door of my house, gardenias give off a sweet smell, which is in the air and I feel spring.

Class observation day

Today was my son's class observation day. It was the time of an elementary school subject, called drawing and handicrafts that I observed. My son was focusing on that class. His class teacher talked to children in the same way as an adult. I was relieved to see that he was enjoying his class.
